These have come up a few times on different threads. Went to buy some today but noticed that the packet says from 9mths. Anyone try them sooner? My ds is 7 months and coping well with food, sucking/chewing and swallowing but might he bite a bit off the biscuit??

Oh for the paranoia to be over . . .

They are quite thick biscuits and I would wait until the tated age at least.

get some biscotti (heinz organics) if you specifically want something like that, (they're easier for them to munch/suck etc) or cow and gate I think it is do a range from 7/8 months cna't remember now. tbh i've got them for my DS but he's not right keen on them, he prefers his rice cakes.

NAB3 · 07/12/2006 19:13

What about organic rice cakes? They are small and babies love them.

munz · 07/12/2006 19:16

lol. same minds nab! lol. they're from 6 months J loves them.

dd had organix rice cakes from 6 months. they say stage 2 around 7 months on the packet.

i think organix assume you are working your way through purees, then lumps and so on, so would say a biscuit is stage 3. however with blw this is obviously not the case as theer is no stage 1, 2 or 3.

up to you if you want to try them really.

I used the organix moon biscuits from about 7 months as finger food (before finding DS was a tad sensitive to wheat...). They were great, and he never bit them, just sucked them to death. Gets gooey, but he really liked them. One of his little friends does the same, despite having several teeth (DS has none), so IMO the no biting the biscuits is not a tooth thing.

scaryt · 07/12/2006 20:12

Thanks all. Might try rice cakes first then the biscuits - suspect he probable would suck them to death.

dd had organix moon biscuits from about 7 months, same as bikebug's experience, she sucked rather than bit so the bisuits smooshed up. dd doesn't eat them that often, though, they are still quite sweet so i tend to give her ricecakes.

deaconblue · 07/12/2006 20:58

Have you tried the organix carrot sticks? They look like wotsits but are covered in carrot powder. Ds loves them.

whensantagotstuckupAITCHimney · 09/12/2006 18:14

i haven't, actually, because DH is a recovering crisp addict and i wouldn't have them in the house for long...

Alfie had Moon Biscuits from 7 months and loves them. They kind of melt so are easy to eat. He's 8.5 months now and has the Organix Alphabet biscuits which are for 12 months plus! I figured BLW babies are advanced in food handling and so ahead of Organix stated ages!!!
