Have been 'weaning' since 6m. Have tried BLW a few times, he just swipes it straight onto the floor.
DS is FF and waking 4-5 times a night for feeds although we have started to offer water at night. Selfishly I was hoping solids might cut out at least one feed...
He only catnaps in the day (10-20 mins, sometimes 30) so it's not easy finding time/energy to prepare anything fancy, and pretty demoralising as currently it ends up in the bin/freezer.
All he will consistently eat is porridge for breakfast. We have occasional success with banana, apple, pear... but I'm worried about him only having sweet foods!
The rest of the day/night he just wants milk. Have tried mashed veg, chicken, plain yoghurt, blended stew, soup etc, he just won't open his mouth despite being hungry.
Don't know if it's relevant, but until around 4.5m we had the same struggles with bottle feeding - he'd be ravenous but refuse to take it, we'd sometimes struggle for half an hour with him increasingly hysterical til he would accept the bottle. (I stopped BFing early on due to many problems, in hindsight probably linked)
Has anyone experienced similar, or can anyone suggest some easy and non-sweet alternatives to porridge? I'm so sleep deprived I am out of ideas!
HV says he should be eating what we eat by now, and certainly eating lumpier food - I don't see it happening anytime soon!
