Question re fresh cow's milk

DS2 starts nursery in a couple weeks and he'll be just short of his 1st birthday.

He's still bfed and won't take formula in his sippy cup - just not interested in it.

He still bfeeds at night although am going to nightwean soon as I need him/me to sleep better once I'm back at work.

I was thinking of trying fresh cow's milk instead of formula to see if that's more successful. Just worried about him having no milk during the day when I'm at nursery.

I can't think why medically there'd be any difference between giving cow's milk to a 11.5mo...? Do I really need to wait until he's 12mo?

Two weeks is not going to make a critical difference, especially alongside BFing for all other milk outside nursery hours.

If it makes you feel better, it's not that long ago that the guidelines said 6 months was OK. Not that I'm recommending that - just pointing out that it's not set in stone (and am I right in thinking that allergies etc have not really fallen since the changes?)

It's not about allergies, it's that cows milk is not a good source of iron or other essential nutrients that breast milk and formula contain. I gave the odd drink of cows milk from 9 months as the main drink was formula.

Although will he need cows milk during the day at all as both mine were down to just morning and evening feeds by that age? There will be no harm giving cows milk if you will still be breastfeeding at other times.
