Hi I'm looking to get my son to start drinking his milk from a beaker. HV suggested a free flow value. He is 8months old. Anyone have good recommendations on a a beaker? Some of them look quite small, I want one that can fit at least 250ml. Thanks!

I started off with the basic free flow tommee tippee one that holds 190ml, to give water at meal times. To begin with they spill a lot, so you might not want to fill it to the top! You could always refill it if he successfully empties it!

Thanks. Do you also use it for milk?

Yes for cows milk from 12 months, although I swapped to one with a valve after a while to reduce spillages.

This is the one:

We have just the bog standard tippee cup, they haven't got a valve, a little bit comes out when they are tipped but nothing major and they do require a little effort. It took a little bit of getting used to but he's got it now and knows what to do with it.

All I suggest is don't have multiple types on the go at the same time as they may get confused swapping between. My little one is now 7 months and will only allow milk in a bottle, if I try putting anything else apart from milk in a bottle he looks at me odd but will happily drink water from his tippee cup.
