Best book for feeding/sleeping routine?

My 7.5 month has been eating purées and finger food for a month now but is also having the same number of bottles (although not drinking all of them) including a dream feed at 11 and waking up for one at 3/4am.

I would like to get into a routine that will help me wean him off the night bottle and sleep through the night but have no idea where to start. He is eating very well during the day but it seems to be having little impact on his need for milk.

Could anyone recommend a book that will help?

Baby Calming by Caroline Deacon is very good. Have you read the MN weaning info too?

I found Gina Ford's Contented Little Baby full of helpful principles.

We seem (fingers crossed) to have managed it with our baby by offering a dummy instead of a bottle at 4am. He stopped waking up for it.

Thanks jilted and feather will take a look at those books. At the moment he is actually waking more often than just 3/4; dummies suffice then but only work for so long. He's had lots of food today so may try it! Will also read the mn weaning advice.

GF is a bit marmite, so not the best for everyone. Her advice isn't evidence based either.

It's fine if you like it and it works for you and your baby but if you are looking for good, evidence based, information I'd give GF a swerve.

Sorry, x-posted there.

I did avoid her when the baby was tiny but definitely need something a bit more structured now. Was hoping to find it on my own but baby not playing ball!

The book I recommend helps you find a routine that suits you both and is evidence based, if that's any help Smile

It's on it's way jilted will see how I get on.
