Hi. I'm wondering if mums from abroad have any recipe ideas for me to make for my 8 month old DD.

Have you tried minestrina? Italian wean their children on it. It is basically a home-made chicken broth/stock which you can make in quite large quantities and freeze in small portions. Then take it out of the freezer and heat on a hob - add very small pasta and boil until the pasta is cooked. You can vary the texture by the amount of pasta you add and the amount of cooking.

If you add a lot of pasta and cook it a lot, it goes mushy. Or if you prefer cook less pasta for a bit less time and it is more soup like. There is no need to puree this if you use the tiny baby soup pasta and you cook it well as the whole thing is really soft and mushy and easy to swallow.

You can also add a bit of parmesan cheese when they are older. Very nutritious and easy to eat
