Ds 8 mo is cmpi. I was told that you shouldn't give soya milk to a baby under 1, after researching I found out that it could affect reproductive health when older (I may be wrong?)

Does that mean no soya yoghurts/desserts as well? Or does it just mean the milk?

crazy panic as all he would eat a few weeks back were soya yoghurts for breakfast Confused

It's not advised as their main drink. If you are worried about too much soy, have you tried Wot No Dairy?

Yes, and they are pea based instead of soy. Have a look here Smile

Different health trusts advise differently - some say boys should avoid, others say it's ok after 6 months. Wot No Dairy do a sort of dessert thing which is pea protein. There is also CoYo, which is coconut, although it's not great on its own. At that age, DS loved custard made with coconut milk (avoid rice milk under 1) or coconut milk and a little fruit juice thickened with a tiny bit of baby rice - no nutrition in the rice I know, we just used it as thickener.
The thing just to be aware of with soya is that 50% of cmpi children are also intolerant to soya, so do watch for signs, if you continue to use soya. DS turned out to be both, though we have now started the soya ladder at just 3yo and it seems to be going ok, including accidentally feeding him soya sauce on holiday two days ago and he was fine!

Thanks jilted will look Smile

Dr diva I wasn't sure if they were allowed coconut milk for the same reason? Good luck with the soya ladder!

I think ds is ok with it, he has had it from 6 months and I haven't noticed any symptoms apart from him not sleeping but I think that's something else Confused
