she hasn't really eaten anything for a couple of days. she drinks her bottle though. she is 7 months. I think she's poorly - how long should I remain calm about this?

does she have agood appetite usually?

Scootergirl · 24/11/2006 12:43

As long as she's drinking, I shouldn't worry too much - it's dehydration they worry about more than anything at this age.
Is she teething? Will she have finger food or anything like that? And does she seem poorly to you? What does your mummy's instinct say?

If she's having milk, stop stressing about it. Just stop. No point - you'll get tense and fretful and she won't eat anyway.

She's not in dire need of "proper food" at this age - she's probably teething or something anyway.

Just don't worry. Did I mention you weren't to fret too? Stop worring!

PS - don't worry x x x

Not worrying about your child's eating... so HARD not to though isn't it? I took both of mine to the drs this morning - not sleeping, not really eating - and got told they were fine. You'd think they'd at least prescribe Calpol or something!

LadyTophamHatt · 24/11/2006 13:27

Pamina, thats one of my tricks too, choc button, youhurts....anything sweet and addictive to children basically

How about a yoghurt, would she eat that??

twelvedaysofchristmas · 24/11/2006 13:29

Young children seem to regulate their own food. I really wouldn't worry. As long as she has milk for energy and hydration she's fine. They often go off food when getting a cold (hopefully she's not!) and for other reasons.

A few days won't hurt.

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2006 16:27

my dd's done this a couple of times, generally a couple of days before she's come down with an almighty cold i'm sorry to say...

How long is 'a few days' ? My baby is also 7 months and is refusing food. She has just got her first 2 teeth (4 days ago) and we are also abroad in S America visiting family. She ate reasonably well before we left home last Sat. I´m sure the change in climate and the teeth are affecting her, but how long before I worry ? She is having more breast feeds than at home and drinking some water. Seems generally happy, and sleeping OK.
Any advice ?
