I am due to stop breastfeeding in a couple of weeks. My LO is nearly a year and on 2 breastfeeds a day, morning and just before bed.
At the moment dinner is hit and miss, she threw her food on the floor, i was not too concerned as she was going to get a breastfeed before bed.
My main worry is what happens when i stop breastfeeding and she still does this, does she go to bed hungry?

Why are you due to stop in a few weeks, if you don't mind me asking?

How does she feel about cow's milk? I'd still offer milk before bed, if not yours, then cow's milk.

My DS2 is 2, and I'm glad he's still breastfeeding, as it means he gets milk before bed, no matter how he eats.

I am going away in January for 5 days, which is the reason for stopping. She is also losing interest in the boob.
She drinks cows milk alright, but would that be enough on its own if she didn't eat dinner? Will it be filling enough?

Yeah, I think cow's milk would be fine.

Thing is, how much they eat really slows down at this point, anyway. Toddlers often skip a meal or two, and it does them no harm at all.

I know mine will have days where they seem to eat more than their bodyweight, and days (or weeks!) where they seem to live on air alone.

thank you NQC, thats good to know
