6mo very regular bowel movements after commencing weaning

We started weaning our six month old approximately three weeks ago.

During the first week it was mainly sips of water and not much solids. Breastfeeding continued as normal.

From week two as we gradually increased the solids we then experienced very regular diarrhoea. This happened soon after (almost every) breastfeeding session rather than the weaning.

After a week we took the little one to the GP. GP and tests were all okay. They said continue as is as baby's mood and appearance look fine - which is true.

Well into week three the diarrhoea has reduced but we are still seeing regular bowel movements. We are talking around 8 or 9 per day, many at night. Pre-weaning it was 1 or 2 per day.

While the weaning is going well, we don't know if the above is normal?

We haven't introduced any exotic foods. It has only been basic fruit and veg. We let baby dictate how much they want to eat two or three times a day.

Are they teething? dd used to get diarrhoea every time she got a new tooth.

Yes, teething. Although hasn't been complaining too much about it.
