DD is eating all her fruit and veggies and absolutely loving them, not quite 5 months and vauguely (is there any other way?) remember that protein is a no no until 6 months - is this still the case, what would happen if i did introduce chicken/eggs/fish etc? Can never get a hold of my health visitor and desperate to know xx

Hi,
It is better not to introduce anything other than fruit and vegetables until babies are 6 months as their digestive systems aren't able to cope with much else. Also eggs and fish are two of the foods that are most likely to cause allergies so it is best to wait. Hope this helps

Ds is 7 months and I just started giving him a protein item per day. I've done stuff like cod, chicken and beef but I've left it a day or so before introducing the next type. He seems fine with it in terms of allergies but is a bit freaked out by the change in texture = lots of gagging even though I've pureed it quite smoothly
