At what age did your L1 start using a fork/spoon

Hello, my LG is about to turn 1 and even though I give her a spork & spoon she just bangs with it or sucks it which is fine, don't mind that. But I was wondering when do they start trying to use them properly?

Any suggestions on how to help aid them into learning to use them or should I just leave her be?

Thank you

DS2 can use them now at 16 months. I think it is just a process between 12-18 months for most children, and they should be able to eat with cutlery by about 2.

You can try putting things onto her spoon/fork for her and letting her get it to her mouth. She'll begin to copy by watching you eating too.

Yes just keep at it and don't worry about it. DD is 10mo and can just do it but she has had her own spoon from 5mo as BLW. It can take a while!
