Help ds refuses food!

Hi my ds is not interested, two weeks ago he ate apple and pear puree but now is not interested anymore I've tried being happy and jolly and just see other babies loving their dinner and mine just turns his head and refuses, I have tried putting food in his mouth when his gums are not clamped shut and it just upsets him - what am I to do - shall I just give up and carry on breast feeding until he looks interested again? He is 6 months old. Any help or advice greatfully received.

Is he interested in feeding himself? My
DS is just over six months and will happily stuff toast/biscuits/dried apple rings/those bread rolls with the hard crust in his mouth. Maybe if he would do that, you could nip in with a swift spoon when he opened his mouth or dip the bread in whatever mush you want him to eat. Don't worry too much - he'll probably pick up on it if you are and refuse even more.

I will try, I've put down a cup and spoon for him to play with too. He is teething at the moment, but I will definately try the apple rings and bread rolls etc.

Brill that sounds so much better than trying to force food down when ds is not interested. I will sit him on a plastic mat and hope for the best tonight and then go shopping tomorrow for yummy snacks x

Have just discovered that DS loves cake after older sister proudly gave him one of her freshly-made ones to try. Is giving a six-month old cake enough to get you drummed out of most baby groups?
PS: The hard bread rolls and apple rings, specially if you chill them in the fridge first, are fab for teething.
