So the munchkin has just happily sucked, chewed, crammed a couple of sticks of carrot in/round his mouth. In fact sat merrily like this for 20 mins. He bit pieces off which he pushed out of his mouth with a smile on his face. Just wanted to check that this was the idea. No swallowing but he will learn that eventually won't he?

that sounds like the perfect start. (although you might find that he did swallow something, much to your surprise). it's totally about tasting and feeling at the moment, the actual eating seems to come later. good luck.

sounds just perfect! he will love all the different textures of things you give him. much more interesting that half his toys i bet! a squishy banana, then a chunky carrot, then some cold cucumber and some fluffy broccoli!! it's great!

ooooh he really did swallow a bit wasn't expecting that!

I didn't think DD had swallowed any of her carrots on Sunday, but her nappy proved me wrong...

Oooh its so exciting when they actually get the hang of it! Aitch's blog is great by the way. It does take a few months for them to get started though so DON'T WORRY and enjoy.
