Help - 10 month old will only feed himself!

that of course limits what he eats!
He is taking his ready brek and weetabix out of his mouth when you feed it.

Supper also comes out. Tried to 'bribe' him and give his favourite fromage frais for lunch and he also spits and then uses his hand to hand it back to me!

today he had toast fingers for breakfast (most on went on the floor) and breadsticks for lunch.

He has his own spoon to hold etc. what should i do, he can't live on this

ive just cooked meatballs for supper but that needs to be fed to him...

Just one thing on the Tommy Tippee bibs. They're great, but don't (if you ever were as stupid as me - or possibly someone I married) put them in the dishwasher. They warp.

i put the soft silicon ones in the dishwasher all the time... do you mean the harder plastic ones? also i cut an extra hole in mine as it was very big for dd and stuff kept falling down behind it.

FredArthur · 10/11/2006 15:50

I did mean the hard plastic ones - I didn't know they did softer silicon ones....

Learn a new thing, eh?

DizzyBint · 10/11/2006 15:51

i have the soft silicone ones too. they're sold as travel bibs, easy to roll up and take with you. i've never seen their hard plastic ones.

FredArthur · 10/11/2006 16:10

The plastic ones are great because they catch the food and are really robust. Mine have gone through three children and are still pretty useful (except the one that went in the dishwasher) with my nearly three year old with things like egg and porridge. Particularly porridge.

AitchTwoOh · 10/11/2006 17:28

the only downside to the soft ones is that the purple one we've got is now really badly stained with tomato in the dishwasher... no idea why. the orange one is fine but the purple one is for staying at home only as it looks unhygenic in the extreme.

My DS3 is exactly the same and I worry that he is not getting enough food especially as he wakes at night for bottle.

I can feed him when I am holding him, dont know if this is worth trying??

I agree with what lulumama said and try not to worry to much so long as he is getting his milk.
