Egg - ideas?

My 7 month old doesn't enjoy the texture of boiled egg (though seems ok with the taste). Ditto omelette.

Any ideas for making it more manageable? She enjoys cheese, bread and so forth and purees on a low salt cracker (or self fed with a spoon if I fancy hosing down the dining room Grin ).

What about scrambled egg? My DS is also not that keen on egg but occasionally will eat scrambled egg.

Also you could try egg mayonnaise, might be a different enough texture in a sandwich. I sometimes do egg fried rice which goes down well. Carbonara sauce for pasta too.

Thanks! Egg mayo is a brill idea Grin Also I reckon if it's on pasta she'll have it so carbonara may well work too.

DS ate a fried egg very quickly, I just turned it over to cook the yolk side as well so the yolk was cooked. But all well
Cooked egg has similar texture so it may be a case of offering again in a week or so... maybe she just finds it too slippery at the moment? DS couldn't really get any egg for a while as he'd not really be able to pick it up and so would give up or barely eat it. I doubt her tastes are so fixed at this point that she won't give it a try another week!

Oh, one thing is eggy bread crumpets. Soak crumpets in egg and cook on both sides in a pan. You get loads more egg in than eggy bread and easy to eat. Crumpets are amazing for BLW, so easy to eat as they fall apart so easily but you can get loads of whatever you choose to put on them inside the holes!

Scramble with cottage cheese; sounds horrible, but actually tasty and my 11 month olds are keen.

Eggy bread crumpets are ingenious - thank you!

Haha scrambled egg with cottage cheese - that's the only way my DH will eat eggs! Luckily my DS doesn't seem to agree and loves them on their own

Tried eggy bread crumpets - my word! Delicious.

Waffles thank Jamie Oliver for the Eggy Crumpet idea :) it's in Jamie's Great Britain.

DD at that age (and still now at 17 months) didn't eat in an "adult" way in the sense that she didn't (and doesn't) have day to day preferences. She seems to have weekly preferences, where she balances out her food intake over the week.

For example, she loves broccoli, but she won't eat it often when we give it to her because she's in a carbs mood or a protein mood.

Just try lots of things, in lots of combinations, over and over again. And don't ever take it personally when your lovingly prepared food is chucked on the floor!
