Does anyone else have good and bad days weaning?

DS is 8mo and started him on solids at 6mo. Finger foods and purées.
Some days he won't stop putting the food in his mouth, loves tasting everything, just when I think he's had enough he'll put more in his mouth. Not necessarily eating much but lots of food going in.

Other days he totally refuses to put anything in his mouth. Won't take purées. Just throws everything on the floor.

Is this normal? Just when I think we're getting somewhere he has a bad day. At the mo it seems every other day is a bad one.

And if I give him a food he loved one day, he refuses it another time, so I don't think it's that he just doesn't like what I've offered him that time, iyswim?

Teething?

This is totally normal in my experience, and all part of the process of them getting used to food.

Yeah he may be, keeps poking his finger towards the back of his mouth, he has 6 already so thought the rest would be a while but maybe not.

Pleased to read you think it's normal. Just so frustrating when I think we're on a roll.

My 7 month old is like this. Grin Yesterday she ate a good portion of blueberry porridge for breakfast and a heap of cheese/spinach pasta later.

Just now gave her the same breakfast ... lobbed it everywhere. Even refused my desperate petit filous offering! Grin

Glad it's not just me!

My eight month old is the same. Yesterday she ate three good meals, sometimes she'll barely eat one. As she's still bf-ing frequently and gets vitamin drops I am not too concerned. She's experimenting with different tastes and textures which is the main thing.

My little one is suffering from constipation which seems to have tallied with a reduction in interest in food and being off things she used to love.

Although must understand prunes help as will gobble down a dried one as quick as you like!

It might be some underlying thing you will never know about!
