Zip shut mouth!

DD started weaning 2 weeks ago (6 months), but has had a dreadful cold since last Sunday. It is a cold that's going round not an allergy!
As a result she's been off solids and zips shut the little mouth. She wants plenty of milk feeds so I reckon she has a sore throat.

I've just been offering purees and finger foods. Letting her have the tiny amount she wants then not being fussed if she doesn't have much.
I give a milk feed an hour before and an hour after or sooner if she signals thirst.

I've not introduced anything new as I'd not be able to tell if they caused snotty nappies or sneezing etc due to the cold!

Does this sound normal with a cold?
Do you reckon the mouth will open now she's feeling better?
Week 1 she was very enthusiastic!

Illness can really affect their appetite especially so soon into weaning when she hasn't really "got" the idea of food. It's understandable that she just wants her familiar milk when she's unwell rather than this new food stuff!

I would either take a complete break from solids for a few days or just give her some finger foods to play with. You don't want her feeling pressured to eat when she doesn't want to as you want mealtimes to be positive for her.

Great thanks.
This was kind of what my instinct was saying. Smile I'll give her a bit of finger food at tea time and leave it at that.
