deseeding tomatoes, why?

Have just spent forever skinning and deseeding tomatoes for 7 month old ds. Why can't I just use tinned toms? I understand the skins might not be good but I don't get why he can't have the seeds - if they are indigestable/ible, (can't spell!!) won't they just pass straight through anyway? After pushing peas through a sieve last week I swore I wouldn't do anymore fannying around with his food!

My dd is 2.4years - always gave her toms with seeds in, she's still here!! Infact she adores tomatoes. Go for it.

My sister's just told me that apparently they sit in your gut for the rest of your life! I eat tonnes of tomatoes, maybe that's why my gut is so huge!!

Surely the only reason people remove them is so that tomatophobes don't know what they're eating
And they do pass through, albeit whole - apparently there are lots of tomato plants in the sewers.
