Baby porridge

I have just started to wean dd. Have tried baby rice and have read somewhere you can give baby porridge as well. I know you can use normal rice for babies put through a sieve. Can you do the same with normal porridge oats?

How old is she?

you can whizz up the oats very finely into a powder with a blender before you make the porridge

I wouldn't fancy trying to push porridge through a sieve myself

I originally weaned dd on baby porridge as she hated the baby rice. Didn't even think about the adult version!

You can use readybrek, but shouldn't give porridge before 6 months as it contains gluten.

But readybrek is just finely milled oats - it has gluten in too
