How much breast milk should my DS be having?

Weaning is going ok, with 3 meals established, but I am concerned whether he is getting enough breast milk/formula. Currently he has an early morning feed, a mid morning bottle of formula (but will only take 10-50ml and I expect he will drop this soon) a mid afternoon breast feed and a bed time breast feed. I want to switch the mid afternoon feed to a bottle of formula, but worried if he takes less than he would from my breast, that he may not be getting enough milk in the day?

Does this sound ok? How much should he be taking? I read in a AK book that it should be about 600ml, but obviously I can't measure amount with breast feeds.

Thanks :)

I had the same worry. Look up my thread. They will take what they need. Feel less worried now. My thread was about 3 weeks ago Smile

Thanks coldcottage my ds seems to be taking a little less than your's is. I'm planning on stopping night feeds this week as they are spoiling the early morning feed and i think it is ok for the midmorning feed to drop relatively soon? Just worried as it doesn't seem like that much milk if only having morning, afternoon and bedtime feed…wish I could see how much he is taking from my boobs!
