baby taking more milk than everon solids

My baby's started weaning and she's taking more milk than ever. is that normal?

Exactly what my 6 month DS is doing this week! He had a ridiculous amount of milk overnight last night. We started weaning last week (BLW mainly, he's getting yoghurt on spoons but he's mainly grabbing and chewing them and getting it that way) and so barely anything is going down, it's more playing. I'm mainly going along with the idea food doesn't really replace milk feeds for a while (BLW book says up to 9 months milk will be the same, but possibly because with BLW actual eating might not begin for a while). It's hard to know when to give him a go at the food if he's had so much milk.
