Ideas for tea/light meals for 9 month old

Can anyone give me any suggestions for teas. My 9 month old simply refuses to eat bread or toast and I'm struggling to come up with anything different for her

What about pasta?

Moondancer146 · 14/02/2015 16:20

She loves pasta and I give her things like macaroni cheese and spaghetti Bol for tea but we eat a lot of pasta and rice for our main meal. Today as example we've had our own version of a carbonara for lunch but because she won't eat sandwiches I've got no idea what to do for tea :(

Hmm that is a tricky one, what about like eggy bread or like a cheese on toast? Or is bread just a big no go at the moment haha

Moondancer146 · 14/02/2015 16:47

It's a complete no go! I've tried eggy bread, various toppings on toast and several sandwich fillings. I've even tried jam and peanut butter in the hope something sweet might tempt her but she just won't eat it at all. She won't even have little pieces in soup lol If I give her it in her hand as soon as she realises it's bread she throws it across the room and if I feed it to her she spits it out. She's got 5 teeth now and eats plenty of other finger foods so I'm not sure what the issue is other than her just not liking it.

Veggie muffins?
Quiche?
Porridge fingers?
Would she eat pinwheel wraps?

Peeled boiled egg
Omelette
Rice cakes/crackers with toppings eg nut butters
Just chunks of veg, meat, fruit, cheese?

Moondancer146 · 14/02/2015 17:04

Thanks :) I've got some meat and cheese that I'm going to try with crackers tonight. She's not very keen on scrambled egg but I'll definitely try her with omelette and quiche and savoury muffins are brilliant :) I'd read about making them ages ago and then forgotten so I'll get baking tomorrow. Should be easy to make lots of different ones because she loves veggies

Dips with breadsticks/pitta/carrots etc, soup?

angelopal · 15/02/2015 19:34

How about oatcakes and hummous. Lentil and cheese wedges are popular here.

beela · 18/02/2015 22:17

Pitta? Crumpets?

snowaccidentprone · 18/02/2015 22:28

Would she eat pizza or a wrap?

Mini jacket potato

Cheese scone

Oatcakes and hummus

Pancake
