Fruit refusal

My dd is 10m old and is struggling with eating fruit as a finger food. She'll only really eat banana as a finger food. She is fine with apple/pear etc as purées but won't seem to eat them if I offer them as finger food. I've tried strawberries/blueberries/mango/ melon etc. She is the same at nursery too. She'll put the fruit in her mouth but won't eat it.

Has anyone got any tips or is it just a case of keep offering it? She is a good eater and we don't have any weight issues. I'm just keen for her to eat more fruit!

I honestly wouldn't worry if she's ok with veg and puréed fruit.

Don't worry, both of mine were like that, just keep offering and she will pick it up. Mine got much better once they had more teeth, especially the back ones. At 3 and 18 months they both eat loads of fruit and love it

It's conpletely normal :)

Just keep offering it but try not to make big deal of it, she'll come round to it sooner or later.

Thank you. We'll keep going with it then. I have wondered if it's a bit too slippy for her to hold too as it often slips out of her fingers. I'll keep offering it and hopefully she'll eat it one day. I seem to be surrounded by friends who have babies who love finger food fruit...

My 15 month old has only just started eating apple pieces. He couldn't handle it before his back teeth came in.
