formula milk stage 1/2

Hi,
I've just started weaning at 22 weeks on purees. She has sma formula milk also, still on the stage 1 tin. When do you move to stage 2? Do you have to?

The "stages" of formula milk only exist because the manufacturers aren't allowed (by law) to advertise or promote first infant milk. So they invented follow on milk so they could advertise that instead. There's no health or developmental need for it and the NHS recommend sticking with first infant formula till 12 months and then swapping to whole cow's milk.

Formula manufacturers obviously want to get you to buy their products for longer than 12 months, so they invented toddler milk for 12 months plus. No need for that either.
