9mth old struggling to poo :(

Hi, can any of you lovely people help? I know this is to do with stuff coming out the other end but it's weaning related so thought it best to post here. My 9mth DS2 has been slow with weaning. Will only tolerate smooth purees etc. Before Christmas he'd been struggling to poo so I had cut back to one meal a day again, just a vege puree. He's only on the 2nd centile. I went to get him weighed and asked the HV about weaning and she said I needed to quickly get him onto 3 meals a day (she said over a period of 3 or 4 days) or I would risk him starting to drop weight. I'm currently just back to 2 meals after 4 days but he's struggling to poo again and crying when he tries to go. I don't remember problems like this with DS1. He hasn't pooed since Friday and that was only a tiny bit. He's EBF and has baby cereal with cows milk for breakfast (HV recommended weetabix but even mushed up he gagged and sicked it up), vege/fruit puree for lunch and small crisp type finger foods + water.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or got any suggestions? I'm scared to add any more meals in until he's done a poo. He's been trying to go again today but a tiny bit comes out and then gets stuck, it's awful Sad. The HV said he needed more food in him to poo regularly but it doesn't seem to be the case. Debating whether I should take him to the GP.

The go should be able to give u movicol to help himpoo, in meantime try a bit of on or prune juice this should help get things moving. Oj works with my lo at 8.5 months and she can get constipated its just there bodies getting used to food xx

Thanks for responding. I'll definitely try the prune juice, hopefully that will help. It's just so awful seeing him in so much pain Sad.

Try giving him boiled water. I had some problem with my daughter when i started weaning. I give her the water after each meal and she's been fine ever since Smile x
