weaning and ranitidine help

my ds got diagnosed with reflux, which now seems better ( he's nearly 6 months) but we had to force him to take it. now he won't put anything except boobie in his mouth. he' ready to be weaned but thinks eveything tastes foul. Even pear! help please.

i meant to add that we had difficulty in getting him to take the ranitidine. Also won't take calpol either.

Does he pick up his toys and put them in his mouth? If so, you could try giving him weaning spoons to play with for a bit, so he gets used to putting spoons in his mouth. Does he try to grab your food when you are eating? You could always let him (if it's something safe like vegetables). Not that I know anything about it but you could be a candidate for Baby Led Weaning. It may be that you were anxious over getting him to take the medicine he needed and he has picked up on that, making you even more anxious? Sorry if I've got it wrong, just trying to kick around ideas... If so, maybe you need to let him take the lead. Don't worry, if he is not quite 6 months and still having lots of boobie, it sounds like you have lots of time to take things slowly. Hope this helps!
