aptamil creamy porridge question

hello ladies

My 5 month old had her first go at aptamil banana creamy porridge and she really enjoyed being spoon feed so we would like to supplement one of her 5 x 180ml bottles with a porridge meal for now then adding on some veg etc.

However, I am unsure as to how many spoons of porridge would count as a equivalent of 180ml bottle. Is it 6 spoons? she is a good eater so she would eat whatever amounts we give her so I don't want to overfeed her

any advice will be greatly appreciated!
many thanks

At this stage, food is about first tastes. Milk is all they "need" for the first 6m, worth chatting with your HV but the following worked well for us:

Milk as normal through the day, then as much porridge as she wanted at teatime, then a smaller bottle (about half a normal feed), as they still need to drink. Bedtime bottle as normal.

Watch out for some interesting nappies whilst baby's tummy adjusts...!

I wouldn't deliberately drop any bottles, especially as she is still so young. Just give milk as normal and offer a few spoonfuls of food about an hour after a bottle.

She will naturally drink less milk as she eats more food, just make sure you keep up a minimum of 500-600ml milk a day until 12 months.

At the beginning it's about getting them used to different tastes. So milk as usual and a tablespoon of whatever porridge or puree. when she is used to various tastes give the solid food first and then the bottle, you'll see that she takes less milk.
