Hiya,
Ive done BLW for about a week, and DS has only tried one thing, a boiled carrot stick on the 1st day. What do I do? Just let him go on at his own pace? And ive been assisting with giving him a few sips from a cup... is this wrong?

Highchair everytime - my two loved their highchair (and tray) mashing their food and water around with their fingers but then licking them - so getting the taste and textures of food - they loved mashed banana, pears, scrambled (really scrambled!!) eggs, mashed sweet potato, etc etc. I just placed a small bowl of food in front of them on the tray (along with their cup of water)and a plastic weaning spoon and let them play with it (whilst I sat next to them pretending to eat their food!!!). We had great fun and they did actually end up eating the lot!!! Good luck and don't give up!!!!

err... how do I do DSs toast? He was eating mine today but it went soggy, so i took it away. I did his own, but it was hard and broke alot. i had a thin scraping of butter on it aswell... is that ok? What else can i put on toast? Thanks x

i wouldn't give it so hard as to break bits off, so it sounds like the way you do your toast is probably fine. it's not a problem for it to go a bit soggy, i don't think. was he having any problems with it?

not really... he didnt eat any, just chewed it. He might have got the top "layer" off, if you know what I mean. (my toast)

sounds like he was doing fine with it, then, so try it like that again. if you are anxious about the choking thing, quite understandably, you could do an infant resus course? i found that helped A LOT with my concerns, because i felt that if somehting did happen i'd be able to handle it.
