13mo not eating

right
my ds hasnt been eating like he usually does for last week or more. usually very good eater but refusing most food, though will drink water and take a btl. ive been giving him more in his btl than normal as worried about him getting enough.
hes very active and generally happy, running about wanting to carry on. last night though he was up quite alot, crying until he got a btl, never usually wakes for a btl. he might be teething at the mo, and he has cough/cold so thats prob why but cant help worrying esp as the in laws are making such a fuss about it.
he will eat some fruit and yogurt if offered when he doesnt eat his meals but i dont like doing that as dont want him picking up bad habits. (not me doing it, in laws as they 'dont want him starving')
any ideas/suggestions? am i right not to make a fuss? am i not making enough fuss?

I think you're right not to make a fuss. Teething and illness often put them off their food temporarily and they just want comforting, familiar food. If he's usually a good eater then I would just roll with it for now and he should bounce back soon.

thanks cornish, trying my best not to stress over it as dont want him picking up on it. just really disheartening when you make him something he would usually eat and he just spits it out/throws it on floor.

Yes, I know the feeling! Do you generally give him the same food as the rest of the family? I found it a lot less demoralising and easier to keep calm about it if I was cooking it anyway rather than making it specially for DS.

yes he gets what we eat normally, sometimes i make him lentil soup with pasta in or a potato at lunchtime. loves meat/chicken/salmon, will eat a boiled or scrambled egg with butter in it, loves avocado and the wee yeo valley natural yogurts and most fruit and veg. hate seeing him spit everything out or plain refuse it.
