my dd has always been a colossal pain in the arse about drinking her bottle. i have seen other babies slug down their entire bottle in one shot, but DD never did and at nine months still likes to have a wee break in the middle. (i try to make sure she doesn't get to the end of her bottle, though, as i'd rather she control her own appetite).
so when i started weaning, i consciously decided to keep food separate from milk, timing-wise, so it's never really been a huge problem, tbh.
i think that i wrote a thing about it on the blog 'routine, shmoutine' as i recall... but of course the blog is down at the moment. it should be back up tomorrow, though.
basically, i do feed dd her milk first and foremost, as that's the most important thing nutritionally. the rest is all supposed to be fun and larks, so i reckon i leave about an hour or maybe a bit less between milk and solid food.
even at nine months, she doesn't eat three meals a day, normally it's breakfast, lunch and snacks, or breakfast, snacks and tea, it depends on what we are up to. and sometimes it's a late breakfast and snacks and snacks, if i really can't be bothered.
snacks are fruit, cheese, rice cakes, veggies etc, whatever i have jammed in the buggy bag. (a 'meal', ladies, could be coq au vin, spag bol, goulash, chicken korma, we live it large in this house let me tell you... today we went to wagamama and she went nuts for noodles, chicken and soy beans).
anyway, this has been a bit of a ramble, but basically don't bother at the moment. food is going in, that's a start. and you can see if he likes eating on your lap as well.
keep up the good work...
