Hi mums my lo is 6 months and eating purée jars/pouches and porridge , he gags on thicker things and on banana??

Can I start pureeing the same food we eat for him ? Before adding salt etc ? For instance I've made lentil Ham and veg soup , stock from boiled hough and no salt ? Can he have this ??

When do they stop gagging too? Thanks

At six months they can eat pretty much anything other than honey I think. As you said, keep on eye on salt levels. Gagging is normal, part of the learning process. Just start introducing normal food.

At 6 months you can give him the same food you are eating without pureeing Grin

At this age babies have a very sensitive gag reflex as it stops them from choking. It doesn't matter if the they gag.
