a) Wolf them down with great gusto and beg for more
b) Wolf them down with great gusto and beg for more whilst using sleight of hand to palm them down onto the floor
c) Take a piece in her hand, put her arm out over the edge of the highchair and look at me in disdain whilst squeezing the fritter repeatedly and dropping it on the floor
d) Gag theatrically and throw up
e) whack the table/tray repeatedly very hard to make them jump up and down before throwing them on the floor.

HuwEdwards · 27/09/2006 12:46

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 27/09/2006 12:47

aitch71 · 27/09/2006 12:47

Tutter · 27/09/2006 12:47

ooh, tell me how you made them soupy? (or are you going to say: drive to sainsbury's, walk down aisle 4, pick up pack...?)

Enid · 27/09/2006 12:49

c)

FWIW my two dds gagged the one and only time I made corn fritters

expatinscotland · 27/09/2006 12:49

dunno, but do share your recipe, please.

anniediv · 27/09/2006 12:50

I love corn fritters, lucky old BabyDragon. My dds or dh won't eat them, miserable so and sos.

anniediv · 27/09/2006 12:53

I'm hungry tell me more about the fritters !!

SoupDragon · 27/09/2006 13:11

Did you know it's possible to shred a corn fritter into pieces such that each piece contains a single piece of sweetcorn?
Did you know the best way to m ake those pieces is to put a chunk of fritter in, gum it a bit and then claw it out with your fingers?
Do you have any idea how many such pieces you can make out of a teacup sized fritter??

I think she may have swallowed some though. Ditto the bananananana for dessert (which she squidged to a puree in her hands before licking it off and rubbing her hands on her top)

Apart from them failing the BabyDragon test, they were fine - tasted fine to me, kind of held together well bar the shredding. The recipe was from my reluctant eater thread...

USAUKMum's corn Fritters

2 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsl polenta flour
pinch of black pepper
pinch ground corriander seeds
2 large eggs beaten
3 tbsl finely chopped spring onin
2 tbsp cinely chopped chives
1 tbs finely chopped corriander
340g tinned sweetcorn, drained
olive oil, for frying

Put cornflour, polenta flour, black pepper & ground coriander in bown and mix. Add egg and mix to batter. Add ionons chives & corriancer. Stir in corn. Heat oil in frying pan. Ladle about 2 tbls of batter into pan. Cook for a few min on one side then turn and cook few min more. Drain on kitchen paper.

TBH I don't put in the chives & coriander. They freezer REALLY well.

She did all that with great gusto though

Did you make them yourself? If you did then it will probably be d)!
If they are from the freezer and contain rubbish, then probably a)!
No comment on your cooking, just I know that if I have slaved over a hot stove for an hour then DD2 will invariably chuck the whole lot on the floor, and if I've bought her some Kiddylicious meal (or similar) then she will wolf it down. Ungrateful baby!
They just don't know what is good for them!

hunkermunker · 27/09/2006 13:19

I see you have similar "when to stop spelling bananananana" problems to me, SD

SoupDragon · 27/09/2006 13:21

HM, it's because we sing Bananana (doo doo do do do) to the tume of that Manumanum song the muppets sang once.

USAUKMum · 27/09/2006 14:15

Hey SD, my DS had corn fritters too ! along with cheese scone, which he shredded and 2 pieces of red pepper. .....maybe she will grow to love them

hunkermunker · 27/09/2006 14:16

I will also sing banana thusly henceforth

PrettyCandles · 27/09/2006 14:20

Those fritters will return to haunt you...

SoupDragon · 27/09/2006 15:47

They'll only return to haunt me if she accidentally swallowed some...
