SALT

I know that you're not supposed to give babies sale.

I've also heard loads of folk recommend Weetabix for breakfast.

But Weetabix contains salt.

What to do? Do you feed Weetabix?

weetabix is low salt though so I did use it. A 2 biscuit portion is only about 0.25g of salt so a portion for a baby would have much less salt

Their daily salt allowance is 1g. They don't need to be on a salt-free diet (which is pretty much impossible as basic foodstuffs like eggs, meat and milk all contain small amounts of salt. And a completely salt-free diet isn't good anyway as our bodies need some salt to function.)

However, their limit is fairly low so you do need to be careful; avoid adding salt when cooking, avoid extremely salty foods, giving saltier foods in moderation (things like cheese and bread fall into that category). As the pp says, Weetabix is relatively low in salt so as long as you're keeping an eye on salt contents generally, it's fine.
