Is this a cry for food?

I weaned both dds at 4 months ish when they started waking again at night. Now with ds I've found that this is to be discouraged. ds has been watching every morsal of food eaten in this house for the last 2 months at least. If he's not eating (drinking) when anyone else is eating you know about it. But so far is still going through the night. However 3 nights ago he's started what looks like colic. At night he's either crying or feeding. Last night he had breast + 2 8 oz bottles of milk and finally calmed down and went to sleep leaving dh and I feeling incredibly frazzelled. BUT he's also windy in the evening yet he's been on this milk for at least 2 months. So is he hungry and wanting weaning OR could he be starting to react to this milk?

have you tried gripe water? Ds was windy and that worked for him. How old is he? could it be teething?

He might become colicky if he doesn't have enough time to digest each feed properly. At least 2 hours. How old is he? I take it about 4 months. Is it possible that he is going through a growth spurt?

Quite possibly a growth spurt (yes he's just turned 4 months) but we're well practicesd with those given that he's well into 6-9 month clothes already! . the only other thought was that he starts with breast only and gradually gets more formula through the day.
