How much puree should a 8 month old eat?

Hi all,

My 8 month old will happily demolish 6 ice-cubes of puree, plus a bit of fruit/cheese/breadstick as finger food at one meal. If I stop feeding too soon he cries, so I assume still hungry. 6 ice cubes is about the weight equivalent of 1 and a quarter of those pouch thingies.

However, it appears this is far more than my Mum friends are giving their babies, who are same age. Am I feeding him far too much???

How much do your babies eat?

Babies are all different so try not to worry about what your friends are doing.

Have you had him weighed recently? If he's following his usual line in the red book then I really wouldn't worry about the quantities.

My DS went through stages of eating loads and loads around that age, but it all calmed down as he got older. If you let them eat to their appetites then they do usually self regulate.
