I need some advice for weaning my 21 month old

I need some advice or ideas for weaning my 21 month old - I was aiming for 2 years, but am really needing to break free now. He only has the breast for going to sleep - mostly at night (occasionally for daytime sleep) and when he wakes first thing in the morning.
The problem is that he adores his boob - esp in the morning, but wants only Mummy at night, for it. Even though he finishes his milk top-up with a bottle, it must always be preceeded with boob first.

Is there a way to make it less painful than going cold turkey? Is there a method to wean older children who are so aware and stubbornly assertive as far as they can be?

hmm, my dd still tried to get on first thing in the morning and she is 3 in november, its just to see if she still can i think,

But when i got her off me for the levenings.nights I gave her bottles of warm milk with honey and she still has one noe when she goes to bed, also make sure your boobs are well covered and use breast pads etc so that the smell is blocked, you just have to be firm and and its horrible if , like me, you enjoyed the closeness of breast feeding and they are growing up from being your baby before you really want them to.
