You can introduce egg, dairy and gluten to a generally non-allergic family.

oh god, was about to confidently post 6mo and realised I'm not actually sure what the official line is...

9 months for egg, dairy is I think 6 months not sure for gluten would have to check

SoupDragon · 13/09/2006 18:52

I had a feeling most things were around 6 months for non-allergic families.

I was going to make something that has egg in it for 7mth old Babydragon.

Egg white is more like a year (it's more allergenic than the yolk), but hey, she's your third

Dairy and gluten 6m.

Makes you wonder why people bother weaning any earlier, really...

SoupDragon · 13/09/2006 19:26

she's my third and I've just realised she's already eaten bits of homemade pancake made with, er, egg, butter and flour...

Hi, had the same dilemma, in fact egg yolk (well cooked) is fine under a year, the white is a different story it contains a protein that can cause allergic reactions, gluten is from 6 months as well as dairy.

SoupDragon · 13/09/2006 19:54

I' glad about the gluten and dairy thoug. Cheese on toast here we come...

6 months for gluten and egg. dairy as in cheese, yoghurt, custard etc can be given anytime after 4 months (if thats when you start weaning)

frenchmummytiger · 06/11/2006 17:56

Think it's 6 months for gluten. With regards dairy, it recommends that its 12 months before formula or breast milk is replaced by cow milk.
Check with your HV for definite though...
