It was a bit sad, but it was the right time to do it. I was b/f him morning and night. Cut out the dinnertime night b/f last week, and just cut the morning one a couple of days ago. DS kept playing with boobs instead of feeding from it! He doesn't seem to mind, he loves his cow milk and guzzles it down quickly from his straw cup.

But my boobs are sore! Don't want to express as I just want the milk to stop producing asap!

Noticed too his nappy in the morning is more full (actually leaked today in the cot because he slept in till 8:45am! it was a dark morning here).

How much, how often and when do people feed your babies (around this age) cow milk? What kind of cups do you use?

I think the DH/P's want 'their' boobs back!
I believe that a pint a milk a day or the equivalent with cheese and/or yogurts is the required amount for 1-2yrs. You can also make this up with other foods like broccoli and salmon. My DD2 is still on the boob. I am trying to cut out feeds but she seems to find a way to get a sneeking one in some other time of the day! She has a dairy problem (awaiting to see consultant for tests...)so staying with boob for present. Soya has too bad a press and it seems strange to give her modified foods like this or rice milk etc.

Sorry about the late reply, haven't been netting for a couple of days... DD2 is 12mths. She is definitely my last so part of me doesn't want to give up feeding just yet but part of me wants to so I am in a bit of a quandry (?spelling). I fed DS for 6mths and DD1 for 8mths. So this is the longest I have fed for. What about you?

well ds is my first and only one for the moment. i too had no idea when to stop - i just found bf much easier and enjoyed the bonding too! but at 15 mths, i just saw all these signs that it was the right time to stop, so i did. i just knew it was the right time.

i thought i would feel a new person - liberated, more energy etc after stopping. but still feel exactly the same!

ds not missing bf at all, and loves his cow milk - he would drink it all day if he could!
