Getting ds2 23 months of his bottle

Ds2 is 23 months and is still having formula milk at night in a bottle, (tried cows milk which he will not have at all, will keep trying) he sometimes has one through the day before nap time, he's a fussy eater and only has a few teeth through, just getting 3 back ones atm. His first tooth came through at 13 months and he has 6 front ones now, could this be a reason why i am finding it so hard to get him of a bottle, he has no dummy never has so I think its a comfort thing for him but i don't want it to affect his teeth. Ive tried ever beaker going, he will have water or juice from a beaker but not milk, am i being silly? should i let him have this 1 or 2 bottles a day for the time being until he'd ready, I just don't know what to do he was ebf til 6 1/2 months old and ds1 would never touch a bottle and was bf til 18 months then went straight to cows milk in a beaker so I've never dealt with this problem before.

In the same situ but have no advice! My dAughter (24 months) won't give up her bottle. She was obsessed with my boobs and then she became obsessed with her bottles. Never had a dummy. I've tried many, MANY times to get her to drink milk from a cup or a beaker, but all hell breaks loose. I've got bigger fish to fry at the moment so not pushing the issue but will tackle it again in a few months.

She'll quite happily drink anything else from a cup and only has bottles for drinking milk.

My ds is 2.4 and still having a bottle at night - I sometimes wonder about weaning him off it but I can't see the harm in his having it really.

beccajoh thats exactly like ds2, I suppose i'll leave it for a while them and just keep trying. I just don't want it to affect his teeth, but i suppose to me anyway he's still v young and I'm happy for him to continue having his milk in a bottle for the time being, its obviously a comfort thing for him.
Its more the milk he has before nap time i'd like to drop but I don't think he will at them minute with all his molars coming through.

I agonised over this, in the end I couldn't get dd1 off it so let her have it. It was one bottle at night - there are worse parenting crimes, she moved to a sports drink at bed when she was 3 and a half - made a big deal out of choosing it and had no tears or anything (I thought she would still be having a bottle at 16!)
