Can you recommend me a BLW book please?

Just that. DD is only 17 weeks but I'm excited so keen to read up on it - am after the basics, how to start, etc, as well as food ideas. Not planning to start till she hits 26-ish weeks but will probably take me that long to read it!

Thanks.

This is the original BLW book by Gill Rapley, I found it really useful www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-led-Weaning-Helping-Your-Baby/dp/0091923808

Good luck!

The Baby-Led Weaning Cookbook by Gill Rapley has all the detail you need about what to do, plus all the recipes. The original book is padded out with pages and pages of testimonials so it doesn't actually have much more info. www.amazon.co.uk/The-Baby-led-Weaning-Cookbook-delicious/dp/0091935288/ref=pd_sim_b_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0XK6J44AVQZJHA20JP0W

BLW is just giving the baby the same food you have and not bothering to blend it. You probably don't need a book!

Cook without salt, take baby's bit out and then add salt for you/DH.

Go for big, soft lumps to start.

Avoid anything windpipe sized e.g. grapes, blueberries, olives.

Start when she can sit unaided and is showing an interest in food. Put it on her highchair tray, if she eats it she's ready. If she doesn't, she isn't.

That's basically it.

If you want a cookbook then the river cottage baby and toddler book is also good with a mix of purées and blw recipes.
