???egg allergy

I gave my 7mth baby egg for the 1st time yesterday in the form of well cooked scrambled eggs. He ate less than 1/4 teaspoon, then immediately spat out a lot of watery liquid followed by by 2 vomiting episodes within 20 mins. Bless him he became quite lethargic afterwards and slept for over 2 hrs (with me watching him like a hawk!). I am assuming he is allergic to egg from this, has anyone else had this experience as I am not sure what I should do in terms of giving him egg in the future and should he avoid foods that contain eggs such? also do I need to see the GP for this? Ps he is completely well and back to normal today

I know your post is a couple of weeks old now so I'm sure you've been to the GP about it, but from my own personal experience of a son with egg allergy it sounds very like your baby had an allergic reaction. My personal advice would be to ask your. GP to refer you to a dietician at a hospital (allergy clinic) and in the mean time (if the referral process take a couple of months) try to see a community dietician and take all egg and egg powder out of the diet (egg powder comes up in crisps/sausages/sometimes bread crumpets/pastry/fresh pasta etc) - obv some of it only appropriate if you're breast feeding and it needs to come out of your diet, I know you wouldn't give a 7 m old crisps!! Good luck, it's a minefield but they are so much more aware now and there is lots of support available if you can get attached to a good allergy clinic.
