Ten month old spitting food out constantly

This started about a week ago until which time he had been a keen eater. Now he readily takes food into his mouth but spits it out after a bit of sucking. It's hard to get him to eat anything at all ( except milk which he loves). During this time he has increased night feeds.
Hs anyone else come across this? Any ideas?

Teething? Maybe has sore gums/teeth.

Sore throat?

Will he eat yoghurt/soup/rice pudding/porridge?

Or maybe he's just discovered spitting and thinks it's a laugh?!

I think the latter is the most likely. He as been pretty happy generally during the time since he's been doing it, no signs of discomfort. He's not that keen on runny or puréed food at the moment either. As long as I can cope with the nights then I suppose I needn't worry. He's chunky, not going to fade away!

I'd lay off the food for a week or so, still offer it, but don't count it in his daily intake and try and fit in an extra daytime milk feed or two. If it's just fun to spit, hopefully the novelty will wear off soon!
