Hi my dd is 24 weeks and I would like some clarification on whether she needs vitamins and iron when weaning as she is ebf. I spoke to my health visitor and she said only when she is taking more solids (offering purée and/or fruit/veg sticks once daily for past week or so) but I am a bit concerned as if have read that iron stores start to run low at around 6 months. Just wondered what others do and how vitamins etc are administered.

I gave a multivitamin from 6 months (the Wellkid one) - I was under the impression that this is current NHS advice.

I have been told by HV that no need if given healthy, fresh food and getting sunlight every day?! I've been wondering myself!

Not sure if this is much help for you, but
here is the NHS advice.
