Weaning EBF 6 month old - problems with bowels??

My EBF 6 month old has recently started weaning about two weeks ago with puréed fruit and veg only. Have gradually introduced in the same way as I did with DS. However with DD, she has become constipated, bucks and writhes a lot as if in discomfort and has also stopped sleeping, wanting to constantly suckle. It is as if she is in discomfort. She bucks and writhes and bobs away at the breast too sometimes and gets quite grumpy. Does anyone else have any experience of this? Any suggestions or tips/advice gratefully received.

Wheetabix with milk so it's mushy rather than baby rice. Boil prunes with ripe pears and then purée it. Less carrot, potato and banana. Apparently malt extract in milk also helps.
