Switching from formula to whole milk

Not sure if I should have posted this in the breastfeeding/bottle feeding topic or in here.

We are in the process of moving our DS from formula over to cows milk - the plan is to mix the cows milk in with the formula and slowly increase the quantity of cows milk.

I understand that all babies are different but I was wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences of moving over and also whether they found their babies took less/more of their bottles once they had made the switch.

I did it a feed at a time rather than mixing e.g. swapped the morning bottle to cows milk and left the evening one as formula. When they were ok with the cows milk I swapped the evening one to cows milk as well. Neither of mine seemed to notice much difference tbh.

I did the same thing as you're planning to do - replaced 1oz of formula with cows milk on day 1. Increased it by another oz each day till we were only on cows milk.

Went very smoothly, and my DS's never seemed to notice any difference.

Good luck!Thanks

I switched ds1 as you are planning to but all in cups.

Ds 2 was on bottles so over 4 weeks I dropped one bottle of formula a day and replaced it with a cup of milk.

All went smoothly.

DS and DD didn't increase/drop intake when we switched.

I didn't change gradually, just used cows milk once the last of the SMA tin was used up Grin
