Gagging / Vomitting

7mo DD has been weaning well. Near the start, she gagged a couple of times (both times on banana - I think it got "stuck" on her gag reflex) and vomited a fair amount.

She's been fine since - we're up to 3 meals a day. A variety of home cooked purées and porridge / weetabix of varying thicknesses. Today we tried to add pasta (baby star pasta). It went ok for the first 7 or 8 spoonfuls but then she seemed to get some stuck / have problems with the pasta (or potentially the sticky cheesey sauce?) and she did a major vomit.

She's always fine after a vom (that's my girl) but I wonder if she's alone or if others have had this and If there's anything we can do to stop it happening?

Happened occasionally with ds1 (who is now 3.5) and fully expecting it with ds2
Sometimes they puke when they gag, sometimes after a coughing fit or tantrum, sometimes if they've eaten too much.

Can't really "stop" them, but just try to be a good brownie and "be prepared". Have the highchair on a mat or tiles, have a muslin to hand, have a "sick bucket" type thing to hand.
have a greedy Labrador ready for clean up duty

That said - could have also been the gloppy consistency of the sauce, maybe try thinning it down a bit more next time?

I have this with DD. She's 10 months and has only just started chewing. Whenever I gave her anything lumpy or finger food she would majorly gag and then quite often upchucked. I cooled it for a while and stuck with purées and have only recently started testing her out on bits of toast, fruit, etc. I figure she'll get there eventually!
