Dumb Question on fluids?!

So LO is on 2 good meals a day, I'm still offering 5x milk 7oz feeds a day, he only really takes 3 of those.

What should I do about fluids? I'm worried he's not getting enough fluid? I offer a sippy cup with water but he's not quite got it yet hahha!

Should I give him water in a bottle or am I just being an idiot & shouldn't worry??

If he has plenty of wet nappies and is not showing signs of finding it hard to poo then it will be fine and he will be getting enough fluid.

How old is your Lo? Smile

He is 6 Months, hmmm he seems ok poo'ing but actually not that many wet nappies

Are you offering food roughly an hour after a milk feed? It may encourage him to eat less but he will be getting more milk Smile

Yes, doing exactly that. He seems to love food but I am also fully aware of how important milk is at this stage also.

I'll talk to HV this week, see what she says ....

a minimum of 20oz of milk is recommended between 6 months and 1 year and your lo seems to be taking that so I wouldt worry too much. Persevere with offering small amounts of water alongside meals and they will eventually get there with it.

Also, if he is taking less at some feeds then offer a smaller amount in the bottle e.g. rather than offering 5 x 7oz, offer 2 x 7oz (am and pm maybe) and then offer maybe 4 or 5oz in the other ones - just so you are not wasting so much milk
