3 weeks in - does it matter if we skip a day?

I'm 3 weeks in to weaning my dd. She's been having puréed butternut squash, carrot, sweet potato, avocado, apple, banana etc. and has fed very well from the start. She's now having purée at around 10am and at 6pm.

This morning she wouldn't eat her banana and spat it straight out, then just did the same with her butternut squash. I assumed I had timed it wrong and she just wasn't hungry but she cried from hunger around 10 minutes afterwards and just drained a bottle of milk. So it means she's not had any food today and just milk.

Do they tend to have days where they just aren't bothered about food? Does it matter that she's had one day without food and just milk all day? I assume it's fine but just want to be sure!

I am weaning a 6.5 month old we do 3 meals a day however yesterday she wasn't too fussed about food so we just did milk.

She was back to wanting food again today :)

sounds fine. What age is she? Could you give her something she can hold and have a go at if she doesnt want something off a spoon?

All her main nourishment should still be coming from milk, so no, it doesn't matter if she doesn't fancy food for a day or two. Ho old is she?

She's just coming up to 6 months. We have weaned slightly early but she was definitely ready for it. I'm guessing her age means it doesn't really matter if she's just having milk for a day! Thank you for the replies Grin

My daughter hardly ate anything solid until 14 months (wasn't interested). She had whole weeks at 7-8-9 months when she only had milk and is now a very healthy almost two-year old. It'll be fine!

My dd is 6 and has only had a bowl of tinned peaches today as she's unwell. Have no doubt in my mind that she'll be eating properly in a couple of days Smile

Your dd will be fine Smile

How has she been today Felix? Smile
