Can someone talk to me about sippy cups?

DD is 9.5 months and breastfed. I'm also doing BLW and she's definitely got the hang of it but doesn't eat loads.

She's never really taken a bottle but will have water from a Philips Natural bottle. She also has a tomme tippe sippy cup (one she has to suck to get the water from).

I read she should have a free flow cup?

I'm a bit confused!

A free flow cup is one without a valve, so if you turn it upside down, a bit of liquid will come out. If you have a Tommee Tippee first cup, that's free flow.
